The GSOT Journey To-Date

Blog

Hi there! My name is Sara. Welcome to the GSOT blog. I wanted to introduce myself as the owner and director of Geelong and Surrounds OT and tell you a little bit about how GSOT started.

I am a mother of two crazy children and I first started GSOT in 2016 after my son Alfie was born. I was previously working at Barwon Health and I wanted to return to work to a job that was flexible around family life and also wanted to work in a role with endless possibilities. Since 2016 GSOT has grown to a team of seven including five OTs, a therapy assistant plus admin support. I love our team, its like a family!

When I transitioned from public health to private health, I wanted to be able to provide amazing opportunities for neuro-rehabilitation by offering our clients to access the latest technology and rehabilitation techniques. We have already purchased a Saebo kit, an AbleX and an InterX therapy device with more items to come – watch this space! We also have a clinic room and offer home-based rehab.

I love our team. We all support and challenge each other. As a team we like to think outside the square; we believe that trying something is better than not trying anything at all and it doesn’t matter how long post injury you are there is always an option to try.

I am excited to share some amazing and inspiring stories with you of our amazing clients and amazing team members.

Thank you for following our journey!
