Christie grew up in Central Queensland and moved to Geelong to study Occupational Therapy at Deakin University where she graduated with distinction. Whilst studying Christie worked as a Support Worker in the Geelong region for people with Spinal Cord Injuries.
Christie has worked across a number of streams of Occupational Therapy and is most passionate about working with people with Spinal Cord Injuries, Cerebral Palsy, and really enjoys the challenge of prescribing complex wheelchairs. Christie recognises the impact the right equipment can have on someone’s ability to engage and participate in their chosen activities!
For leisure, Christie is a huge sports fan, she plays soccer at a high level and loves doing CrossFit. Christie also volunteers on the weekends for an All-Abilities Futsal league.
As an active, excitable person, Christie is mismatched with a large, lazy dog! You may see her around Geelong encouraging her wolf to get out of the car or to stop sitting down mid-walk!
